Banana stems are a versatile source of fiber, which can be processed into various eco-friendly and biodegradable products. These include textiles, bags, interior design materials, and wearables. The project aims to produce high-quality, sustainable, and biodegradable textiles, yarns, and crafts from banana pseudo-stems while empowering women to improve their incomes and well-being.

The project focuses on fostering skills of vulnerable women through education, traditional craftsmanship preservation and training. This project is being implemented in collaboration with our partner IGNULAK Pour Femme.

Expected Results

• High-quality, sustainable, and biodegradable textiles, yarns, and crafts, produced from banana pseudostems, available for sale.
• Enhanced income and well-being of women and their households by training them to produce high-quality products for both local and international markets.
